Earl and Ruth Kurtz started growing vegetables on Peck Lane, Cheshire, in 1940. The farm grew as did the family. The Kurtz Farms family produced and sold vegetables wholesale in local markets. Small greenhouses were used to give certain vegetable plants an early start.
