    In 1914 , the Hook Brothers Piano Company was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. The original store, located at 101 State Street, sold pianos and other musical instruments. T. Lane Ward and Cecil Brodt were employed by this firm, the former being secretary-treasurer and the latter a salesman.
