Q: Do I have to be a New York state resident to participate? A: No, this program is open to any fourth grader from any state or country including Canada. Q: Can the child just go him or herself? A: No, an adult, up to two children per adult, must accompany the child. The adult can be parents, older siblings, or friends as long as the adult purchases a lift ticket. Check with the ski area you are going to for more information. Q: Is this a season pass or just one coupon per area? A: No, the passport booklet includes three coupons to each of the participating ski resorts participating along with one coupon for a complimentary Mountain Dew or other soft drink. Each of the three coupons entitles the 4th grader to a free lift pass. Q: What is proof of grade? A: A copy of the previous years' report card (3rd grade) or a copy of the current report card. A letter from school on the school letterhead stating they are in 4th grade can also be used. Q. Whom do I make the check out to? A: To Ski Areas of New York, the sponsor and administrator of the program. Q: What about home-schooled children? A: A copy of a birth certificate or letter from the school district or something along those lines will suffice. Q: Do I have to send in the whole report card? A: No, all we need is a copy of the page that has: Name of the child Grade of the child School Year Q: Do I have to send in the original report card? A: No, a copy is just fine Q: How is the passport sent? A: The passport is mailed via first class mail within 2 weeks of receipt of the application once the initial shipment of passports has taken place, usually in mid-November. Q: Can I get the passport faster? A: Yes, $5 extra for US Priority Mail or an extra $18 we can send it to you via USPS Express Mail. If you would like this please state that on your application. Please note we cannot FedEx to post office boxes, it must be a street address. Q: What if I have a UPS/Airborne Express account? Can I use thatè A: No, we only ship with FedEx or US Mail. Q: I have a FedEx account? Can I use that? A: Yes, just include your account number on the application. Q: I cannot print the application for one reason or another, how can I get one? A: You can request one via email by filling out our contact us form. Q: I forgot to include a check/credit card information with my child's application, how can I pay? A: You can fax your credit card information to 315-696-6567. You must include the credit card number, expiration and name on the card or you can fill out the payment form securely online here (coming soon). Q: Does this include lessons or equipment rentals? A: Yes, the Learn To Ski/Snowboard 4th Grade Passport does include one free lesson, rental and ticket, a 20% discount on a return Learn to Ski/Snowboard Package and a 20% discount for Adults on the same package. Q: Is there a 3rd or 5th Grade Passport program in New York? A: No, there is not a this time. For other discount programs for other ages please contact the ski area you would like to visit. Many areas have childrens programs that may meet your needs.
