4th Wave's technology consulting includes research and market analysis in 3D, multimedia, the PC industry, information appliances and the future of computing. The company has been involved in the multimedia business since 1989 and yet this has matured and dramatically shifted in emphasis with the Internet. The company has also been involved in the 3D chip and PC business since it began in 1995. In 1998 it became evident that there was a major taking place in computing and especially the PC industry. In an effort to understand these forces the company launched a study of the future of computing. Now 4th Wave has begun to shift focus into this area which includes telecommunications, information appliances, government regulations/standards, satellite and wireless communication, cellular technologies and home networking among others.
