As racers, we can all use some help connecting with friends, bikes, gear, mechanical support, coaching and nutrition. As a shop, we need to reach potential customers so we can sell bikes, gear and so on to make us a viable business that can then support a race team. Every business has to market itself to reach customers. In general, most shops don't see teams as a very good way to market themselves as all too often sponsorship of a rider becomes little more than a way for the rider to get a discount and has no real marketing value at all. I've personally been involved in teams for over 10 years and I've seen what a great marketing tool a team can be when its members are the right people, equipped with the right tools.
