Description
The Texas Coastal Bend Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Incorporated is the Merit Shop organization of the construction industry for contractors, suppliers, and service firms. ABC promotes competition within the construction industry through the Merit Shop. ABC helps protect rights of its member firms to manage their own businesses and labor relations through the most sophisticated management knowledge available. Each member of ABC has the opportunity and advantages of educational programs, labor relations advice, association publications, and to exchange ideas with fellow contractors. It is no coincidence that most ABC members have increased their construction volume over the past 10 years. No other construction association has been able to make such a claim. You Belong in ABC If you believe in the Free Enterprise system, the right to run your own business free from outside interference, rewards based on merit, freedom to compete for the work you want. As a member of ABC you join thousands of construction firms nationwide who are working to protect your rights as an independent business. The Texas Coastal Bend Chapter of ABC, chartered in 1982, has active members and knowledgeable staff working in your interest in the areas of legislative action, labor relations, educational and safety programs, fringe benefits, and mutual member assistance. ABC is the most effective organization in the industry in opposing intimidation, violence, coercion, feather-bedding, secondary boycotts, work restrictions, and interference with your rights to manage a project in the best interest of employers, employees, and construction consumers. ABC's pursuit of free enterprise in construction has set the standard for all other associations to follow.
