More Support for Apprentice Programs Proposed We continue to wait for the House and the Senate to finalize their changes to the Governor's apprentice legislation. The House released a new amendment this week that would have removed all of the changes to non-apprentice training from the bill - making the bill only update the apprenticeship program. We would be supportive of this amendment, but have also been supportive of their previous proposals because they have all included the apprentice changes in the manner that we support.

He is adamant about discussing safety concerns on projects and makes sure that the proper equipment is available. DeMoss strives to pass his knowledge down to other company employees by taking the time to be involved in a factory shutdown or project start-up so that his skills and expertise are passed down to others. He also takes ownership of customer problems and works diligently to solve them even if the problem is not the company's problem.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Iowa applauds Governor Branstad’s initiative to more than triple apprenticeship training funds. Iowa’s construction industry faces a significant shortage of skilled workers and this proposal by Governor Branstad is a major step forward in providing training for high-wage jobs and helping Iowa’s contractors find and employ skilled tradespersons.
