KTVA-Milwaukie-Ch.3 began in 1987, broadcasting over the cable television system in Milwaukie, Oregon. Though production of commercial spots and a live, viewer phone-in show proved worthwhile, documenting special events, primarily wedding days, proved much more rewarding. Understanding the importance of preserving these historical events via the magic of videotape, owner Rick Phillips shifted the focus of the company in 1989.
