The AAGL vision is to serve women by advancing the safest and most efficacious diagnostic and therapeutic techniques that afford less invasive treatments for gynecologic conditions through the integration of clinical practice, research, innovation, and dialogue. Welcome! For the last 36 years, the AAGL has educated the world's finest surgeons while improving the lives of women everywhere. This global commitment to women's health care is embodied in our continuing medical education of physicians and professionals to further promote the well-documented high standards of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. When established in 1971, the AAGL was the very first organization in the world dedicated to gynecologic endoscopic surgery. Thirty-five years later, we remain the largest, working to lead the field into the 21st century by education, communication and research. The AAGL educates by organizing and sponsoring our annual congress and other regional continuing education courses and workshops throughout the United States. In addition to these courses, the AAGL fosters communication between physicians by publishing The Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology (JMIG) and our quarterly newsletter News Scope. The goal of the AAGL is to assist physicians in providing the safest, most therapeutic, and economical surgical care possible for women.
