Abacoa is a place where people can live and work and go to school. These areas of preserved, natural Florida ecosystems are enhanced to provide habitat for wildlife. In particular, the endangered Florida Gopher Tortoise makes the Greenways home. The Greenways also provide storm water management for the entire community of Abacoa. Although these are the primary purposes, the Greenways also provide people opportunities to enjoy and study natural Florida without leaving their own backyards.
