I started Abrahamse & Company Builders in 1974 after several years of teaching special education in New York City and Southern California. Living, working, and raising a family in our beautiful Piedmont area of Virginia has been a blessing. I have had a wonderful thirty-nine year experience of dealing with great clients, architects, and employees. I have been fortunate to have surrounded myself with a great team of project managers, estimators, supervisors, and craftsmen who share my passion for fine, custom construction. Many members of this team have been around for more than twenty years.

We also take pride in the Abrahamse and Company management and supervisory capabilities. We practice being “good-listeners” in order to understand the needs of our clients. Our clients’ needs are unique from job to job and we welcome their participation in the building process to whatever degree they wish. We believe in complete and detailed record keeping, budgeting, scheduling, billing, and changes in the work. We consider detailed and clear communication between the contractor and the client is a major part of our responsibility.
