Heath Schneider began his academic career in 2004 at Auburn University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Being a personal trainer during his undergraduate years, he was able to build on his communication skills working specifically with one’s physical well-being. This worked well as a transition to Heath’s next level of education, receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2011.

Our goal is to provide premium health care while providing an open line of communication between the patient, therapist, physician and payer source. Our highly experienced staff consists of registered and licensed physical therapists and occupational therapists.

Renee Oubre is a graduate from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science in 2010. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013 from the University of Saint Augustine in Florida. After going to school in Florida, Renee realized she is a true Cajun at heart and returned to the Acadiana area. Renee has experience with Orthopedic and Neurologic patients. She strives to provide patient care in a friendly and caring environment to decrease patient’s functional limitations and return them to their prior level of function.

Heath Schneider holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Heath worked as a personal trainer and was able to develop his communication skills while focusing on physical well-being. In 2011, Heath earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While he has worked in many different settings, he gained much experience in outpatient treatment while working at Champion Sports Medicine in Birmingham, AL and later at Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in Houston, TX.

At ACTS we provide occupational therapy to our clients as a means for them to progress toward their goals. Occupational therapy, or OT, is a client-focused treatment for individuals plagued with developmental, physical and mental diagnosis. Its purpose is to maintain, develop or recover a higher quality of life. To increase the patient's participation and performance in day-to-day life we educate the client and their family, teach required skills, modify task and adjust their environment. We do this based around what is most meaningful and useful to the client.
