Description
Purpose: The purpose of this Committee is to develop research opportunities within the field of emergency medicine. Working with the Foundation for Osteopathic Emergency Medicine, this Committee regularly evaluates applications for research grants and awards. The Committee also develops and manages the research competitions presented at the Scientific Seminar. Its Subcommittee on Academic Awards works directly with the Foundation to evaluate research and awards on the resident level.
To assist the growing need for continuing medical education (CME) among the members, ACOEP began to increase its offerings. In April, the first offering of the Emergency Medicine: An Intense Review Course was held in conjunction with the Annual Spring Seminar. This CME Course has since become an annual course scheduled prior to the Part I and the Recertification exam offered by the AOBEM.
ACOEP is dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities, forums for peer learning, professional networking, and a variety of clinical and practice management resources, as well as exclusive member benefits. Be sure to review the menu in the Member Center for a full list of benefits of membership and ways to become involved with ACOEP.
Sponsorship of ACOEP conferences is an ideal avenue for companies wishing to reach involved and innovative physicians dedicated to staying on the frontline of the emergency medical field. The value of our many sponsorship opportunities is higher than ever and continues to grow as ACOEP's membership expands.
Purpose: The purpose of this Committee is to develop academic information on emergency medicine on the predoctoral level. Members produce student-level lectures for distribution to Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and physicians on pertinent topics in emergency medicine. Members should have a sincere interest in working with students in a mentoring role.
