Description
We began producing water wells mainly for farms in 1930. These early wells were hand dug. In fact, Elmer Young dug the deepest bricked lined well known in North Texas. It was over 100-ft deep. As the demand for water wells increased, we began developing water using a cable tool rig. Most of these wells drilled in the 1940s and 1950s were still for ranches. They withdrew water from the aquifer using a windmill or pump jack. We were named Young Drilling at the time. In fact, many of our old customers still know us as Young Drilling or Young & Son Drilling. In the 1960s, we began to drill with rotary rigs (these type of rigs are the more modern ones still in use today). The production of water also began to expand to home sites, subdivisions, and municipalities. In the 1970s and 1980s, we saw a big growth in house wells and commercial wells. Also more recently there has been a lot of water wells drilled for Oil & Gas Companies. We still serve all sectors in water well drilling and service today. We also have expanded to geothermal wells. We can design and install geothermal systems for residential or commercial needs. We have built our knowledge and experience for four family generations. This is why we pride ourselves in providing our customers with the best possible well to meet their needs.
