Advanced Component Technologies, Inc. (ACT) was formed as a wholly owned subsidiary through the acquisition of the Carroll George Company on January 1, 2000 by Angus Industries, Inc. Angus Industries, Inc., including its ACT subsidiary, is an employee owned ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company. The primary products produced by ACT are secondary non-metallic structures to support the needs of the "Off Highway Vehicles" market. New market direction and products have expanded the Company's focus to include; Heavy Truck, Recreational, Medical, Mass Transit & Bus and Aerospace. Acoustical and esthetic trim components and plastic trim are the primary products produced by ACT. These include headliners, interior and exterior fenders, sunvisors, roof caps, engine covers, hoods, floor mats, under body insulation, firewall barriers and various other trim and acoustical products. The Company has developed key relationships and strategic alliances to service the needs of their global customer base. The original Company was founded in 1965 by Carroll George and was subsequently named Carroll George Inc. The Company was located in Northwood, Iowa with 4 associates and 3,200 sq. ft. of manufacturing space. The primary products consisted of cushions and drapes for RV industry and expanded in the late 1960's to include the manufacturing of seats.
