Description
Interested in Becoming a Paragliding Pilot? You have come to the right place! Our USHGA Certified Instructors are dedicated to helping you become a safe and capable pilot. Our private certification program utilizes both tandem flying and classroom training to engrain the skills necessary to pilot your own glider and fly solo. Intensive P2 Certification Course Adventure Paragliding offers the most extensive and comprehensive P2 program available in the US today. Come to Glenwood for a vacation and learn how to fly. We offer luxury accommodation in self catering units during your stay here at Glenwood, with tents and cots provided during your stay at the training hill at no additional cost. Our certification program runs between 8-12 days and utilizes complete immersion, thereby catapulting your skill level in a condensed time frame. What makes us unique from all the others is the use of a training hill, ridge soaring, and high altitude flying. Our two training sites offer the student diverse landing options ranging from restricted to wide open. After our intensive, you will walk away with enough skills and knowledge to effectively deal with any conditions a P2 site might require. Although other school may claim to have similar training conditions, most of them instruct on a training slope (less than 2 minutes per flight) skirted by large meadows, leaving the new P2 without many of the skills required by mountain and restricted sites. Therefore, in the long run, you might pay more money in guide fees and time, learning necessary skills than you originally anticipated. The school you choose for your foundation training is one of the most crucial decisions you will make as a novice pilot and one of the few you have complete control over. We at Adventure Paragliding understand the complexities of making this choice and want you, as a potential student, to be comfortable with your selection. We encourage you to do your research because we are confident that our school offers the most diverse training facility in the US. What to Expect Day 1- introductory to equipment and first day ground handling (intensive) followed by ground school Day 2- Two to four tandem flights with you as pilot in command (most of the flight) Getting you comfortable with the glider and its flight characteristics. In the afternoon we leave for the training and soaring ridge about an hour and a half away where you will do your first flights from the small training slope Day 3- early the next morning we do more ground handling and then fly of the bigger training hill. It is not uncommon to get flights of about 30 minutes if the conditions allow. We can do 5 to 8 flights during the morning followed by more ground handling and ground school Day 4- More flying and ground handling Day 5- more flying and ground handling for a total of around 15 to 25 flights at the training and soaring hill Day 6-Back to our big hill in Glenwood Springs where we will do about 2 to 3 flights in the morning really focusing on glider control some maneuvers and restricted landing field approaches Day 7- More flying of the big hill concentrating on small field landings Day 8- more flying off the big hill with the possibility of flying the afternoon site. Day 9- Wrapping things Up with tests and paperwork Please note: The amount of days will depend on the weather and Pilot ability. It could be more or less.
