A native of Long Island, New York, Elizabeth "Luz" Kief comes to Agenda for Children with more than 22 years of experience in the Early Care and Education field. She has direct teaching experience in full inclusion preschool and self-contained early childhood special education classrooms.

Agenda for Children was founded to create an independent voice for Louisiana’s children. The organization was born out of its founders’ fight to reinstate mandatory licensing of child care in Louisiana, and was founded to work on a diverse set of children’s issues from early care and education to healthcare and child abuse prevention. Judy Watts became the organization’s first President/CEO, a position she would hold until her retirement in 2010.

My plan is to build on Agenda's many accomplishments and to strengthen our capacity to help individuals and organizations better understand, care for, and educate children.

Glenda joined the organization in 2011 and has over twenty one years of experience in the early childhood education field. In her tenure as an early childhood professional, Glenda has held several leadership positions with increasing levels of responsibility and programmatic oversight. She has worked in such diverse locations as Germany, Texas, Alabama, Kentucky and most recently in Robert and New Orleans, Louisiana. Most recently, she has served as Assistant Director at the Stennis Child Development Center, and Director of the Child Enrichment Center in Kentucky.

Originally from Iowa, Karri moved to New Orleans one year ago and joined the Agenda for Children team in 2012 to lead the organization’s Child Care Resource and Referral division. Karri has more than 20 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles within the child care sectors in Nevada, Iowa and Maryland. Karri has worked as a pre-K teacher, center director, Head Start program manager, and regional manager for a corporate childcare company.
