AHD, Inc. was organized in 1989. The company and its principals have initiated and directed the development close to 5,000 affordable dwelling units for both elderly and family households. They have years of experience in working with the major federal housing insurance, loan, and grant programs available from state and local governments throughout the country. They also have had extensive experience in structuring ownership entities and equity financing programs tailored to the special needs of affordable housing.

AHD, Inc.'s team of knowledgeable and dedicated individuals has supported the development of affordable housing in the Washington DC Metro area for over 25 years.

Mr. Tucker, one of the co-founders of AHD, Inc. is responsible for the direction of all of our housing development operations and programs. He has more than forty years of experience in the planning, design, development, construction, and management of affordable apartment communities using assistance programs available from Federal, state, and local governments. Mr. Tucker is a co-founder and Executive Vice President of AHD Management, Inc. and is also a registered architect and a principal in the architectural firm of EDG Architects.

Mr. Mitchell has been a real estate development professional in the Washington Metropolitan area for more than twenty-five years. He has experience in all facets of real estate development, including site selection and acquisition, government and community relations, large scale multi-family housing, tenant relations, and tenant relocation programs.
