The Junior Leagues are organizations of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Their purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The Junior Leagues reach out to women of all races, religions and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. In 294 communities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, Junior Leagues have been the driving force behind the kinds of initiatives and institutions that make communities healthier, more vital places to live: family literacy, historic preservation, children's museums, women's shelters, school readiness, leadership development, and more.
