Alabama”s First Choice For Orthotics & Prosthetics Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc., is a community oriented patient care facility, designed to provide appropriate high quality, custom fit orthotic and prosthetic devices to individuals in our service areas.

We seek to provide a broad range of patient services including follow-up care (fitting and alignment adjustments), and to make emergency measures available to those with immediate needs, in the event of an orthosis or prosthesis failure.

We take great pride in our staff’s training, knowledge, and capabilities. We strongly feel that we can better serve our patients’ needs if our office policies and procedures are discussed. At their first appointment, new patients will be registered and asked to complete paper work regarding personal and insurance information so we may compile an accurate medical file. Information regarding medical history and prescriptions from the referring physicians may also be requested. Any changes in a patient’s personal information should be provided to our office as quickly as possible.

Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics was founded in 1977 by Jerry O. Swanson. Jerry is an above – knee amputee who lost his left leg at the young age of 16. Since the age of 17, Jerry has dedicated himself to making a difference in the lives of patients with physical challenges.

We are committed to providing orthotic and prosthetic health care in an ethical manner, including listening to patients, meeting their needs, and improving their quality of life. We will conduct our business in such a manner as to benefit our profession and patients and will strive to maintain or exceed established professional standards.
