Description
The Alameda Corridor-East Construction Authority (ACE) has established a Guided Viewing Program to offer the opportunity for students, residents and others to view the excavation by archaeologists who will be searching for artifacts and items at a site near the San Gabriel Mission, founded in 1771. The area to be excavated is within the railroad right-of-way and was once part of the extended grounds of the Mission, which predated the settlement of the City of Los Angeles. The archaeological work will precede construction of the San Gabriel Trench Grade Separation Project.
