Wow. We were hoping to have 700 turkeys in time for this Thanksgiving, but thanks to Alameda's amazing generosity we received over 750 turkeys (and still counting) and are running out of storage room. A special thanks to the Italian-American Leauge, Bay Island Gymnastics, the Indian Princesses, those spontaneous Neighborhood Turkey Drives that got together and brought in 20-50 turkeys each, and all of you individuals that came by and dropped of one, two, three or more turkeys to help our fellow Alamedans this Thanksgiving. On Tuesday, Nov. 24th alone we gave out over 500 turkeys !! So, we are asking those folks who would like to continue to help us in this season, not to bring any more turkeys but, instead, bring the fixin's. We could really use items like stuffing mixes, canned cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin, canned yams, mashed potato mixes, and the like so that we can offer those along with our holiday turkeys.
