The Alameda Hospital Foundation was established in 1985 as an independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to raising and managing funds in support of Alameda Hospital's mission of providing quality healthcare close to home. The chief goal of the Foundation is to promote the development, growth, and wellbeing of Alameda Hospital.

The Business Services department is dedicated to helping you with the often-complicated process of obtaining payment for your care. Alameda Hospital accepts most major health insurance plans including Medicare and Medi-Cal. If you do not have health insurance coverage, we will accept payment by cash, check, credit card, or money order. Our financial counselor can help you with your financial situation.

While both institutions work on the transition, which is expected to take several months, preparations are underway for Alameda Hospital to begin providing outpatient surgical services to AHS patients starting as early as December 2013, followed by service to medical inpatients starting in January 2014.

Alameda Hospital at South Shore Rehabilitation and Wellness Center Alameda Hospital at South Shore provides specialized, extended skilled nursing and rehabilitative care in a safe, welcoming environment. With an emphasis on maintaining quality of life and the dignity of our residents, our small size (only 26 beds) allows us to provide warm, individualized care in a home-like setting. Our compassionate and professional staff provides 24-hour nursing care, including assistance with daily living tasks such as dressing and personal care.

The Alameda Hospital Auxiliary is a service organization whose 100-plus members provide assistance to the patients and staff. Over 1 million hours of service have been provided by these dedicated volunteers. In addition to providing valuable services, they also operate the gift shop and help raise funds to purchase new medical equipment.
