The bills associated with healthcare services can seem overwhelming. Our Business Office’s dedicated staff is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist you with your billing needs. Understanding the billing process of our facility: Our hospital charges for use of the hospital facilities, supplies, imaging services, laboratory services, medication, emergency room, operating room, technician services, anesthesia, and in some cases, the physicians fees. In the following cases, you may receive additional invoices: Allen Memorial Hospital does not own or operate any ambulance services. All ambulance services provided to or from our facility will be billed separately by the organization providing the service. Within seven days of receiving treatment at our facility you will receive an "Itemized Bill" for the services provided by the hospital. You should review the Itemized Bill to verify accuracy of charges as well as correct insurance information. If you have any questions or corrections, please contact one of our Business Office representatives immediately. Back To Top If you are covered by an insurance plan: At the time of your admission, the Admissions Clerk will make a copy of your insurance identification card(s). If your healthcare coverage requires a co-payment, you will be asked to pay that amount before you leave the hospital. Regulations require that we bill Medicare and Medicaid. All other paying entities are billed as a courtesy. It is important that you assist us with making sure that your insurance company pays their portion of the services provided. If we do not receive payment from your insurance company within 45 days of sending a bill, we will look to the customers for payment in full. Back To Top If you are uninsured: Our Business Office staff will be able to assist in determining your eligibility for financial aid, line of credit, charity care, or a payment plan. Back To Top If you have an outstanding balance on your account: Patients with an outstanding balance on their accounts will receive a monthly statement showing any activity (payments made by you or your insurance company) and the remaining balance.
