In many cases, appraisal and reporting under eminent domain are held to a different standard than those performed for most other purposes due to the requirement of compliance with the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions (commonly known as the Yellow Book). All partners have taken appropriate coursework necessary to an understanding of these particular requirements and have experience in the application of same.

We provide third party reviews of appraisals and studies performed for a variety of users. While lending institutions constitute the majority of our review clients, evaluations of studies performed in conjunction with litigation are becoming more commonplace.

Historical demand however does not alleviate the need for a careful analysis of both upside and downside potential. While a basic calculation of value for apartment properties can in some cases be relatively straightforward, the validity of the conclusions rest on the research and analysis behind the data used. Areas of specialty include mines and minerals, net lease properties and affordable housing projects. In addition to real estate appraisals, we provide market studies, rent studies, litigation support, tax appeals and real estate consulting services. We also perform appraisal reviewers for many of our lending and legal clients.
