Before energy deregulation in the State of Texas, your local utility company provided all aspects (generation, transmission and distribution, retail sales) of your electric service and set the rates paid for consumption. Because it was a state regulated utility, consumers had no choice but to pay that rate. With deregulation, electricity service has been unbundled and consumers can now choose among providers (retail sellers) creating opportunities for considerable cost-savings.

Certification is a stringent process requiring applicants to meet standards set by the Commission for financial, managerial and technical abilities. As a certified Retail Electricity Provider, Alliance can provide electrical service to consumers throughout the State of Texas except in designated areas where deregulation has not yet occurred or where rural electricity co-ops exist.
