As industrial scrap business increased, Alliance Steel teamed up with Willman Trucking, a rubbish hauler, to provide scrap containers at the manufacturing facilities. This was a new concept in 1957 and Alliance Steel was there at the beginning. Business flourished in the early stages as more and more customers liked the concept of the "lugger" truck system to handle their scrap. In 1976 Harold Goldfine and Charles Schwartz joined the company. They are the son-in-law and son respectively of Mr. Davis and Mr. Schwartz, the two owners. As the company's business increased, they out grew thir modest facility on 28th Avenue North. In 1978 a new yard and, at that time, a modern building was erected three blocks away at 115 31st Avenue North. The facility provided a much larger yard operation and enabled Alliance Steel to increase its flow of ferrous scrap from a modest 14,000 tons per year, in the early 1970's, to well over 150,000 tons per year today. Ownership of the company has changed twice since the formation in 1957. Charles and Harold purchased the company from their father and father-in-law in 1984. The company also purchased the assets of Opatz Metals, H. Winnick, and E & S Iron and Metal during the period of 1984 through 1991. In 1995, Charles Schwartz decided to retire and Harold Goldfine purchased his shares.
