Allison Tyler is a native Coloradan, with family roots that go back to the late 1800s. Her great-grandmother arrived in Colorado after walking from Illinois, leading a horse named Beulah. A great-great uncle, Frank Davis Hart, was an Elbert County Judge. She lives with her husband and children in Colorado Springs, down the road from her parents' apple orchard in Penrose.
