Her life in Carrollton was full with many good friends and a busy schedule of activities that included serving others in many capacities. Libby was an active member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study group leader for over 25 years, Superintendent of the Primary Dept., Alter Guild and a member of the Believer?s Class. She was a leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a member of the Spade and Trowel Club.

Sandra Brown is a native of Alpharetta, Georgia and has been a resident of Carrollton since the spring of 1966. She had worked at Peoples Bank, Tisinger Law Firm and several ladies' boutiques. In the late 90's, Sandra and her husband, Dean, moved to Denton, Texas where she worked with Standard Pacific Homes as a Sales Assistant. After four years in Texas, they returned to Carrollton. Sandra has worked with Almon Funeral Home since 2004 as a Funeral Home Assistant. She was married to the late Dean Brown and they have two grown sons, Kent and Angela Brown, Deron and Debrorah Brown.

Having been reared in the funeral business, Chick Almon never considered another vocation while working with his father, uncle, and cousin. In 1937, Chick Almon received formal training for his chosen profession at Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee. While Chick served in the armed forces from 1941 until 1946, Mr. Henry Almon died. After returning to Carrollton in 1946, Mr. Almon continued working with his relatives before buying Kytle & Aycock Funeral Home from Mr. Aycock in 1950 and started Almon Funeral Home.
