The tester quickly demonstrated that the touch panels failed far sooner than the manufacturer's claimed operating life. Our customer obtained sample touch screen from several other manufacturers and used the tester to find a product that actually met the required performance. This gave our customer confidence that the product would surpass the warranty life time.

We began development of custom oceanographic and remote data logging systems in response to requests from customers and a perceived demand for low cost reliable products. In the early 1990s we began incorporating satellite communications and terrestrial RF networks into our equipment. We specialized in very low power battery operated equipment, and as technology progressed our products became smaller and even lower powered.

Alpha Omega Computer Systems, Inc. was founded in 1977. The company originally was a software house concentrating on control software for plywood and lumber mills. We grew rapidly and diversified into industrial plant control and security and access control programs.

Our customer was purchasing custom keypad assemblies for a hand-held product. The manufacturer claimed a 100,000 cycle life for the buttons, but refused to supply test data to back up the claim. Our customer asked Alpha Omega to create a button tester that would determine the actual lifetime of the keypad.

We have designed and produced a variety of enclosures for our projects. We have modified off-the-shelf products to suit the job, and when nothing suitable is available we have created custom designs. If an existing case is used we tailor our circuit boards to fit. We have worked with industrial design firms to make molded plastic cases for hand held devices. We coordinate our electronics and circuit board layouts with the features of the custom case to make the product easy to use and aesthetically pleasing.
