Regards" -RS, Roseville "Hi Kristie and Staff, Alpha PT was exactly what I needed to get my recovery into high gear. After knee surgery in Feb 06 I experienced a relatively slow recovery. I was on crutches a little longer than initially anticipated, and my initial PT (with another group) was somewhat 'sluggish'. I accept part of the responsibility here because I expected my knee/leg strength to just come back when 'normal' daily use, so I figured PT was just going to help that along. This attitude and direction aided in delaying my recovery. I also acknowledge the fact even the inflammation in my knee was slow to clear, resulted in the doctor removing fluid from my knee and utilizing a Cortisone injection to aid in recovery. My Dr was not happy with my sluggish recovery, so he recommended Alpha PT. Having accepted part of the delay in my recovery as being part my fault I felt this was just more of the same process. I found this to be wrong! Within the first week at Alpha PT I felt like I was in training for the Olympics. My workouts could run for over an hour with as much aerobic as physical training. I have to admit I didn't always look forward to the strenuous workouts, but I soon found out this is what I needed to get my recovery set in 'high gear'. Some might be uncomfortable with this approach and find it too aggressive, but I know people who were allowed to settle and/or give up on a full recovery, and they regret it for the rest of their lives. So, I come from experience knowing that in some ways PT offices can work in similar fashions, but the difference is how well they progress you through your recovery. I felt like Alpha PT had a better 'roadmap' for my recovery, not an open ended plan with no firm expectations for my eventual recovery.
