Jan Barrick, M.Ed., founded Alpha Plus Learning Systems, Inc. in 1986 to help students improve their performance in school. In 1990 when the Oklahoma Legislature passed House Bill 1017 requiring all Oklahoma school children be tested, the Alpha Plus team of Oklahoma certified teachers began developing curriculum to meet the Oklahoma Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS) Standards. The Alpha Plus curriculum is constantly updated to meet ever changing state and federal mandates. At Alpha Plus we believe success is inevitable when a strong belief that every child can learn is coupled with curriculum aligned to the Oklahoma state standards, and ongoing assistance is available for teachers and principals. Our goal is to raise the level of student achievement for all students and to ensure adequate yearly progress is made at every school, every school year.
