Amazing Ice Sculptures

We produce our own ice using a special freezing process to get crystal clear ice. It takes 3-4 days to make a block of clear ice. How long does it take to make an ice sculpture? It depends on the design, complexity and intricacy of the sculpture. A sculpture such as a flower vase takes approx. 2 hours to do the actual sculpting. Add the time it takes to make the ice, prepare the pattern, sculpt the ice, prepare the ice for transportation and delivery, it could be anywhere between 5-7 hours involved. Are ice sculpture molds used? Every piece is hand sculpted, with the exception of a few carvings that are shaped with a mold. This would include the ice punch bowl. The mold is set in an ice machine, which slowly freezes the water. It takes 30-48 hours of this special process to produce a crystal clear form. It is beneficial to use a mold if possible, which will give you a consistently accurate shape. The molded piece is then detailed by hand. How long do the sculptures last? Most sculptures typically will last 6-7 hours indoors. Outside in the summer, under cover, they will last approx. 4 hours. Generally the details are melted away, but it could take up to two days for the ice to be completely melted. What happens to the ice sculpture after the event is over? Most sculptures can easily be taken down without our assistance. We are available for take down and removal service with additional charge. Larger sculptures will include take down and removal cost in price quote.
