AmerCable’s Houston Office – home of our Oil & Gas Group’s World Headquarters, Offshore Marine Cable Specialists (distributor) and AmerCable Systems (cable assembly specialists). The American Wire and Cable Company was formed in 1899 as the cable manufacturing division of United States Steel Corporation (USX) in Worcester, Massachusetts. Its primary function back then was manufacturing mining cable for USX’s coal mines. The company moved to its present location in El Dorado , Arkansas in 1979, and was renamed AmerCable.
