History AmeriSpec was incorporated in 1987 in Orange County, CA and began offering home inspection franchises in 1988. Since its inception, AmeriSpec has conducted in excess of 1.5 million inspections. In 1996, AmeriSpec joined ServiceMaster's Consumer Service Division as a wholly owned subsidiary of American Home Shield, the oldest and largest provider of home warranty contracts. Today, over 350 independently owned and operated businesses conduct in excess of 150,000 AmeriSpec inspections annually in the U.S. and Canada.American Home Shield Corporation (AHS) founded the home warranty industry in 1971. Today, AHS, along with its licensed subsidiaries, is the nation's leading provider of home warranty plans for homeowners. AHS home warranty plans are currently available in 49 states, plus the District of Columbia. Over the years, AHS has served more than 4.6 million homeowners.An AHS home warranty plan helps protect homeowners from the cost of unexpected home repairs and replacements of major home appliances and heating, plumbing, electrical and air conditioning systems that break down due to normal wear and tear.
