THE GIFT & ACCESSORIES MEXICAN SHOW, 2500 exhibitors In April of 1984, a group of 5 business owners recognized the need to form a unit that could represent the interests of the micro, small and medium-sized companies that comprise the gift industry in Mexico. The 5 original firms were joined by another 27 businesses, and together they founded the Mexican Association of Gift, Decoration and Handicraft Manufacturers, A.C. (AMFAR, A.C., for its initials in Spanish) on July 2, 1984.The companies dedicated to the manufacture of gifts, decorations and handicrafts finally had a platform, which would allow them to develop national and international commercial relations.
