Welcome to American Grinding & Machine Company, one of the largest flat grinding shops in the country. We have twenty-two large surface grinding machines at your service. Welding represents another one of our divisions. We manufacture a heavy-duty steel base or table called the "Brute" Base, which is available in six standard shapes, or it can be completely customized to your needs. We fabricate all types of weldments from small pieces up to 30 tons. We also have a division called Interstate Abrasives, which is a distributorship for abrasive products.

American Grinding's welding division makes sure the job is done right the first time. Our welds are disced smooth and flush, which produces a nice, clean professional finish. Our certified welders produce solid, dependable welds that are able to withstand our customer's requirements. We offer Thermal Stress Relieving, as well as Vibratory Stress Relieving and our weldments are shot blasted which provides for good paint adhesion. We can match any paint color that you might require.

We provide custom engineered products for each application, or we can get in stock "off the shelf" items for each customer. Each outside salesman can provide technical assistance and custom engineering application expertise on-site. Also, we have our own delivery trucks that provide local delivery service in the Chicagoland area, usually the next day.

Interstate Abrasives, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Grinding. Interstate is one of the largest abrasive distributors in the Midwest. We distribute or represent over thirty different manufacturers of abrasive products and related items, such as all types of grinding wheels, which include Vitrified Bond, Resinoid Bond, Rubber Bond, Epoxy Bond, all types of coated products, diamond dressers, diamond wheels, and diamond rolls, as well as CBN wheels and roller dressers.
