Our company was founded to only offer the best products available within the cleaning industry. Making sure your work areas remain clean and free of debris can ensure that guests, patrons, and employees will want to return. We have over forty years of experience in the janitorial products industry. We are a leading distributor providing high-quality cleaning supplies, industrial cleaning equipment, and janitorial products to hospitals, schools, restaurants, businesses, and other commercial entities in the central Alabama area.

Steve Mote began American Osment as a small-time truck-cleaning company called Expert Power Cleaning in 1972. While cleaning vehicles for companies such as South Central Bell (AT&T), Union 76 (Conoco Phillips), and Shell Oil Company, Steve experimented with various chemicals, pressure washers, and cleaning chemicals to find the best combination for a perfectly clean truck. Little did he know, he was beginning an exciting journey toward a lifelong business endeavor.

For over 40 years, American Osment has provided industrial paper and janitorial cleaning supplies to a variety of businesses. We strive to accommodate our customers with individualized products and services tailored to best fit their company's needs.

Our spacious facility has a large selection of new and used janitorial and cleaning equipment. We also offer a full line of rental equipment for those customers that may have one-time, infrequent, or larger-than-normal jobs that don't justify the purchase of a machine. We have a full time equipment specialist who can assist you with purchasing, renting, or leasing machines. We currently have a fleet of service repair vans that give us the ability to come to your facility and perform service on all types of janitorial equipment and pressure washers.

The equipment service and repair division of American Osment has continually played an ever-increasing role in the success and growth of our company for the past forty years. Furthering our commitment to better serve our customers in new equipment sales, service, repair, and equipment rental, the service department moved into its own building in 2007, conveniently located near downtown Birmingham, Alabama at the corner of 6th Avenue South and 30th Street South; it is located one block over from our main building.
