Amermac, Inc.

Description

Amermac was established in 1957 in Americus, Georgia under the name "Americus Machinery". The company was started by a group of inventive men and women who wanted to provide the public with excellent automotive after-market equipment. Roy Peacock, Sr. invented the original tire truer to address the problem of out-of-round tires. Once Mr. Peacock obtained patents on the equipment, he needed a manufacturer. He found Greenfield Metal Products, which was owned by Tom Layfield and Aubrey Greene. In February 1959, Americus Machinery became AMERMAC, INC, when the company was incorporated. Greenfield was also incorporated in 1959 and moved its manufacturing facility to Ellaville, Georgia in April 1963. In September 1975, Greenfield purchased Amermac, Inc. as the sales company for automotive after-market equipment. In 1984, Amermac's office and personnel were moved to Ellaville, combining all manufacturing and sales under one roof. Amermac Inc. sells equipment worldwide in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Australia and Japan. In addition to tire truers, spinners and balancers, Amermac markets a Stripper Ring Lathe for the steel slitter industry as well as a machine for truing racing tires.
