The firm’s civil litigation practice includes representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in significant cases involving bond claims, securities, construction, copyright, trade secret, banking and finance, real estate, pension, oil and gas, and other business-related disputes.

Thomas R. Karrenberg, an “AV” rated lawyer, was born in New York City and is a graduate of Columbia College. In 1980, he received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law, where he was the Articles Editor of the Utah Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. He began his legal career as an associate at the Los Angeles firm of O’Melveny & Myers. Mr. Karrenberg is a trial lawyer who practices in both federal and state courts.

Mr. Kaplan brings to his legal practice a unique blend of experience in both business and law. He has spent time as a corporate executive for Dayton Hudson (now Target) and B. Dalton Booksellers, and has owned and operated small manufacturing and distribution businesses. He has also represented small businesses and individuals as well as major corporations such as American Airlines, Ceridian Corporation, 3M, Honeywell, and G.E.Capital Corporation and several of its subsidiaries.
