Andorra Optics has been serving the photonics industry for over 15 years, concentrating on the design, analysis and fabrication of optical and laser systems. This dedication ranges from small commercial optical and laser systems to larger systems for the aerospace and defense industry, successfully designing, fabricating and testing complex optical and laser systems for small, medium, and large corporations.

The Andorra Optics staff has been involved in optical product development for over 25 years. In this time, we have produced products that range from telescope systems for guidance to data storage to dental cameras. In most of these cases, this involved creating a design concept and then building a prototype to test out the concept.

President Jim McCann has a Bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in optical sciences from the University of Arizona. He has worked with optics and laser systems for nearly 25 years as an engineer and/or consultant. As a member of the SPIE, Optical Society of America, and a past president of the OSA/New England Section (1999), he has served on numerous committees for education outreach and topical meetings.

Andorra Optics has worked with all types of component materials (glass, plastic, crystals, metal) and surface types (aspheric, spherical, diffuse, non-symmetric, etc.,) which can be fabricated by different methods such as diamond machining, injection molding or conventional polishing. Andorra has in-depth knowledge of the fabrication process and the cost-performance tradeoffs associated with using these types of components in the design.

Andorra Optics has extensive experience in applications engineering. Products designed for a particular application can often be modified cost effectively to serve other applications. In addition, there are always improvements and upgrades for existing systems that can extend capability and performance.
