ANDRA HARRIS-MARTIN, Ed.S., is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor specializing in child and parenting issues. She received her B.A. and Masters degrees from Emory University and her Educational Specialist degree from the State University of West Georgia. An Atlanta native, she has been involved in the field of education and mental health in the Atlanta area since 1977 and was awarded "Fulton County School Counselor of the Year" for 2001. Andra has provided presentations and workshops on child behavior, families in transition and other topics of interest to parents. Andra left the school system after her 20 years of service to devote her time exclusively to her private practice which is located in Alpharetta. She sees children, adolescents and adults in the areas of family transition, anxiety, depression, stress management, grief and bereavement, relationship enrichment, personal growth and development, and school-related issues. Andra assisted Families First in the development of “Rollercoasters,” a divorce curriculum for children to accompany the court-ordered seminar required of divorcing couples in many metro counties. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Visions Anew Institute and is a support group facilitator and frequent presenter for Visions Anew programs as well. Her role as a Child Specialist and Divorce Coach in the collaborative divorce law process assists families in transition by helping the family avoid the high cost and inevitable trauma of litigation. Other recent accomplishments include: Andra lives in Roswell with her husband, two dogs and is a proud grandmother of an ever growing family.
