Animal Essentials Inc. was born when two pioneer companies of the holistic pet care industry realized that they shared a common vision. In 1994, Animal Apawthecary, a company founded by world-renouned herbalist/author Greg Tilford and herbalist Mary Wulff, began formulating natural pet supplements for Merritt Naturals, a company founded by Frank and Joan Holden in New Jersey. Business took off for both companies, and in 2003, Merritt Naturals and Animals Apawthecary merged everything together into what is now Animal Essentials Inc. At Animal Essentials we are driven by a true love of animals.
