Our Veterinary Specialists, just like medical specialists for people, have devoted their lives and careers to a specific course of advanced study and training. After completing four years of Veterinary School, a Veterinary Specialist’s training includes a one year Internship followed by an advanced three year residency in their area of specialization and a rigorous examination. It is only after this intensive training that they are permitted to call themselves a “Specialist,” and it is this devotion to their craft that allows them to shine in a specific area of veterinary medicine.

Our staff Oncologist, Dr. Chelsea Tripp, works closely with a team of experienced and compassionate veterinary technicians and assistants to provide your pet with the highest quality of cancer treatment and medical care. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday and must be made in advance. These may be arranged either through your regular family veterinarian or by calling the hospital directly. At the time of your initial consultation, Dr. Tripp will discuss your pet’s diagnosis and make further recommendations regarding diagnostics and treatment as indicated.

Nutrition is a very important part of the ongoing care that we provide for our pets. While most healthy pets thrive on a balanced commercial diet, special prescription diets and feeding tubes are sometimes recommended to assist with the management of chronic disease processes. Dr. Walton is well-trained in nutrition and can provide recommendations as well as arrange for a consultation with a board-certified veterinary nutritionist if appropriate.

Our Staff Veterinarians are committed to the study of emergency medicine and keep current on the latest emerging treatments within this specialty. They enjoy the intellectual challenge of managing diverse and complex medical conditions in a constantly changing, fast paced environment. These compassionate and skilled doctors are able to provide top quality care at a moment’s notice—regardless of the emergency.
