Animalgesic Labs was founded in 2007 by Michael Guarnieri, PhD, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer and Dave Allen, Founding Investor and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Guarnieri, an expert on extended-release therapies in pediatric oncology at Johns Hopkins University, recognized the need for a similar extended release technology to improve pain management in laboratory animals. Our flagship product line Animalgesics® is based on technology developed at the Johns Hopkins University. The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent for this technology in 2012.
