AniMall is a non-profit adoption and outreach center that provides local rescues and shelters a central place to hold adoption events. Barbara Lapointe and Audie Schechter saw the need for new locations for groups to use. An adoption center in a mall setting would allow greater visibility among people who might not already own pets. Inspired by Furburbia in Utah, they drew up a business plan and approached several local malls with the idea. Prime Outlets of Morrisville generously donated a 4,000 square-foot store front. AniMall provides a warm, fun place for animals to meet the public. AniMall has fenced in bays where animals can relax with their handlers, instead of being confined to cold, sterile cages. Chairs and benches make it very easy for visitors to sit down and play with a dog, cat or small pet. Fun toys and treats can purchased from AniMall. If you are interested in adopting a certain animal, you can take it into a special meeting area for one-on-one interaction time. Despite how cute the animals are, AniMall is set up to discourage impulse buying. Anyone interested in adopting a pet from one of our attending rescues or shelters will fill out that organizations' usual applications and go through their normal screening processes.
