Quite likely, you have developed a Plantars Wart. This is due to a virus which has infected your foot. This type of virus is very contagious and will often spread to cover large areas of the skin. Although a wart is the most common cause for this bump, there are many other possibilities such as a pressure callus or, in rare cases, a melanoma. A wart will usually become thickened and quite painful. It can even spread to your hands. There exist numerous methods for treating plantars warts, but rarely are the over-the-counter medications effective.
