CARLSBAD, CA — April 22, 2014 – Annai Systems Inc., a pioneer in genomic data management solutions, today announced that it is working with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) to provide an integrated resource for data management and analysis that leverages Hitachi Data Systems expertise in high performance compute and cloud-based solutions, in combination with the proven, Annai-GNOS™ data management software platform. Annai Systems is a preferred partner, under the Hitachi Data Systems Technology Alliance program.

Annai Systems created the GTFuse client specifically to provide an efficient way to access specific segments of whole genome sequences (e.g. subsets of a BAM file). Being able to locate data segments of immediate interest saves time and resources. With GTFuse, focused assessment can be done while data remain in the repository, eliminating the need to duplicate and store data in order to find gene segments. You will be performing large-scale analysis of high-throughput sequencing data from public and private sources with the latest bioinformatics pipelines. These projects will involve alignment, variant and somatic mutation calling for whole-genome sequencing of tumor and normal tissues of cancer patients and other diseases. Future projects will include transcriptome and epigenome analyses.

For file transfer and manipulation, our GeneTorrent software enables accelerated and encrypted transfer of genomic data files of any size. GTFuse provides random, instant access to user-specified chunks inside genomic data files (e.g., *.bam files) at GeneTorrent speeds.
