Annin & Co is the world’s oldest and largest flag manufacturer. Starting from a sail loft in downtown New York City making signal flags for sailing ships in the 1820’s, Annin incorporated in 1847 and has since grown to four manufacturing locations. Annin now has worldwide distribution. As the official flag manufacturer to the United Nations, Annin’s international flags are the standards for exactness, followed by the rest of the world. Every state flag is exact according to specifications. Annin now manufactures over 10,000 different flags and flag accessories.By the very nature of its principal product, the American Flag, Annin has been closely identified with United States history over the past 150 years. For example, when Zachary Taylor was sworn in as President in 1849, a flag made by Annin waved nearby. This tradition has continued at every inauguration since.The last decade has seen Annin expand its physical presence significantly. The modern 180,000 square foot South Boston, VA manufacturing/distribution facility services Annin’s dealer network. The 150,000 square foot Coshocton, Ohio facility manufactures and distributes product to Annin’s mass retail customers. These facilities, plus the Verona, New Jersey plant combine to employ approximately 500 people in a unique and interesting industry.
