Yelena I. Fernandez is the President and Founder of Aperio Group Incorporated, a provider of a wide range of Human Resources, training and development, risk management, and strategic business solutions for client organizations. Ms. Fernandez has over sixteen years of hands-on management and consulting experiences focusing on the optimization of human capital and operational resources. She has served a variety of clients in a multitude of business ranging from fast food restaurants to manufacturing companies. Prior to founding her own business, Ms Fernandez served as Director of Client Services, Senior Human Resources Consultant, and Business Director for the SCI Companies, one of the country’s largest privately held Professional Employer Organizations and provider of comprehensive Human Resources business services. During her tenure at SCI, she strategically and effectively managed a business portfolio of multi-location, multi-state, multi-industry client companies. She played a key role in developing the Company’s service delivery model and in creating the Human Resources consultancy division of the SCI Companies. Additional specific professional experiences include Recruitment and Selection, the design, development, and implementation of ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) programs, providing counsel on employee-related and compliance issues including but not limited to Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, WARN, IRCA, NLRA, ERISA, Wrongful Termination, Negligent Hiring/Retention, etc., and the design, development, and delivery of a variety of Human Resources management as well as operational, client-specific training programs. Also, Ms Fernandez advises clients in the design of Human Resource service delivery models, full service benefit programs and performance management systems among others. She attended Florida International University and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Designation, which is given to professionals with vast experience and knowledge in the field of Human Resources. Professional affiliations include the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Consultants Forum of SHRM, The Greater Miami Society for Human Resources Management (GMSHRM), Employers Management Association (EMA) and the Hospitality Financial and Technological Professionals (HFTP).
